How was Gameday For Heroes founded?
Gameday For Heroes was found in 2009, originally named Tigers For Heroes. This community service project for the Columbus-Phenix City Auburn Club asked club members for monetary donations to purchase six season tickets to Auburn University Football games for AW2 Army Wounded Warriors. Season ticket holders from across the nation started hearing about the program from friends and fellow season ticket holders and unused tickets were sent and distributed to active duty military at Ft. Benning, GA. In two years over 400 soldiers have attended Auburn football, basketball and baseball games and with your help we can increase this number. Our military has also attended games at West Virginia, University of Charleston, WV and Ohio University via donated tickets through Gameday For Heroes.
Why did the name change to Gameday For Heroes?
After volunteers saw the positive impact of the military attending games, the idea of sharing the program with other colleges and universities became a reality. Gameday For Heroes received a 501 (c) 3 not-for-profit status monetary and ticket donations tax deductible. Gameday For Heroes Federal I.D. for donations is 27-2848279.
Is Gameday For Heroes only for college and university sporting tickets?
Yes. The Gameday For Heroes board feels that there is no other experience like tailgating, the spirit and the tradition of college sports. Gameday For Heroes will concentrate on college sports, specifically football, basketball and baseball and other sports as requested.
How can I notify Gameday For Heroes if I have extra tickets I would like to donate to a college or university sporting event?
Contact tickets@gamedayforheroes.org and a volunteer will assist you from our network of wounded warriors and military bases.
Can my civic organization or club adopt Gameday For Heroes and assist with ticket delivery and have military personnel join our tailgate?
Yes. Contact jana@gamedayforheroes.org to discuss how your civic organization or club can adopt Gameday For Heroes. We will work together to devise a game plan that is beneficial for both organizations.

On this website, click on ‘Military Personnel’ and complete the request form. A Gameday for Heroes representative will be in touch with you and we will make every effort to fulfill each request.
Can I become a corporate sponsor for Gameday For Heroes?
Yes. Gameday For Heroes accepts and encourages corporate sponsorships. There are three levels of sponsorship: Platinum, Gold and Silver. To find out more about this opportunity to insure that an empty seat in a stadium is filled with one of our deserving military heroes. Can I make a donation in honor or memory of a friend or loved one?
Yes. Please e-mail jana@gamedayforheroes.org with information for acknowledgement of Honorarium/Memorial. Then use PayPal for your donation. An acknowledgement of receipt will be mailed to you.
When will I receive a tax letter summarizing my monetary or ticket donations?
Notification for tax purposes will be mailed by December 31.
